Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned trader to assist in portfolio management, execution of firm-wide trading strategies, and equity research. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong analytical skills to support our continued growth and commitment to client success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute trades across multiple asset classes for individual client portfolios while ensuring best execution and maintaining detailed documentation
  • Monitor and rebalance portfolios to maintain target allocations and implement investment strategies
  • Conduct comprehensive stock research and analysis to support investment decisions
  • Perform daily reconciliation of trades and maintain accurate records of all trading activities
  • Assist in developing and implementing trading strategies across the firm
  • Monitor market conditions and identify trading opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and firm policies
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to optimize trading efficiency
  • Prepare regular trading reports and performance analytics

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of trading experience, preferably at an RIA or similar financial institution
  • Series 65
  • Proficient in trading platforms and financial software
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and various asset classes
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills

Position Overview
Canal Capital Management seeks an ambitious CPA, CFP, or CPA/CFP candidate to join our expanding wealth management practice. As a Tax & Financial Planning Associate, you will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive tax and financial planning services to our high-net-worth clients. Working alongside our experienced team, you’ll help develop and implement customized financial solutions while building long-term client relationships.

Core Responsibilities

Client Service & Advisory

  • Partner with lead advisors to deliver exceptional client service and support the full client relationship lifecycle
  • Lead client review meetings and assist in prospect conversion meetings
  • Develop and present comprehensive financial plans and tax strategies
  • Prepare and analyze individual income tax returns and projections
  • Maintain detailed client records and ensure data accuracy across platforms

Practice Development

  • Create and maintain standardized proposals, presentations, and resource materials
  • Contribute to team meetings and annual strategic planning sessions
  • Support business development initiatives and client acquisition efforts
  • Ensure thorough compliance documentation for all research and trading activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with active CPA, CFP, or demonstrated progress toward these certifications
  • Strong foundation in financial planning, investment concepts, and risk management
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including portfolio theory understanding
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
